The Energy Conversion Agency (ECA) is a private Power Service initiative affiliated to Refconsult, whose main objective is to convert wasted electricity or redundant energy at the point of use into usable Power, elsewhere.
The ECA has embarked on a consumer to consumer countrywide expedition to convert wasted energy into usable energy through energy saving and exploitation of viable, alternative energy sources.

We have started with LIGHTING.

In Uganda, most lighting (indoor & outdoor), is achieved through the use of incandescent bulbs, compact fluorescent lights (CFLs, commonly known as energy saving bulbs), ordinary fluorescent tube lights, and mercury and flood lights for outdoor applications. These types are widely used for lighting in schools, large and small commercial and institutional buildings, industrial premises and residences. Lighting loads account for more than 40% of the all the power generated in the country.

With ECA's approach to power technology, it is possible to reduce the energy consumed by fluorescent lighting systems up to 50%, incandescent bulbs by 80% and street lights by 80% respectively by simply avoiding wastage due to the use of old inefficient technologies and wasteful habits.
